We’ve all been there: glaring at the fuel gauge, hands sweating, wondering exactly how many miles it really will be before that desperately needed gas station appears on the horizon like an oasis.
Australian radio hosts Hamish and Andy decided to push through that range anxiety to conduct an experiment they call Operation: Dry Tank.
Andy’s Audi SQ5 has a digital fuel range gauge that will tick down to zero when, theoretically, the tank is completely empty. But the duo had their doubts about its accuracy, so they decided to hit the highway and see exactly how far they could go before coasting to a stop.
