930 Hp VR6 Audi 80 Hits 179 mph

The B4 generation of Audi’s 80 had some very serious special editions. One of the best was the RS2 Avant, which boosted the 2.2L inline five of the S2 to a massive 311 hp.

But even the mighty RS2 had nothing on this Audi 80.

That massive front mount intercooler gives you a hint of just what this 80 has on offer. That engine noise doesn’t sound like a five-cylinder either, does it?

That’s because this 80 has a highly-modified VR6. Packed with enough boost to make 930 hp from the six cylinders.

That much power means 290 km/h in the 1,000m.

Not bad at all.

The current offerings aren’t the body-on-frame, go-anywhere specialty tools I remember from my youth, and what they lack in capability, they also lack in on-road performance.
