The South African won the second race at the Nürburgring on Sunday morning in the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup and was subsequently crowned champion with one weekend of racing still to come. Pepper now has a 50-point lead from Jason Kremer (D) and can no longer be caught due to his larger number of victories this season. One of the first people to congratulate Pepper was compatriot Kelvin van der Linde, who was the Scirocco R-Cup champion in 2013. Not to toot our own horn, but we’re pretty sure we’ve just raised the bar when it comes to one of the most frequently touched parts of your car’s interior. This heavyweight shift knob feels like butter in the palm of your hand, thanks due to the top grain perforated air leather that it’s wrapped in. While we’ve borrowed inspiration from shift knobs passed, we think we’ve really perfected the proportions this time around- with the 3/4 leather to metal ratio. Visually this thing leaves nothing to be desired. The machining is top notch, and the detailed crest coin gives that classy yet sporting look which elevates any interior’s level by at least 50 cool points. These are all actually made here in-house by us. The leather is cut to shape, sewn, stretched and glued into place to ensure the highest possible level of quality.
