The WRC has been dominated by Volkswagen lately. 12 of the last 12 races were won by a Polo R WRC, and this weekend they’ll be looking to make it 13 in Argentina. So it only makes sense for tuners to try and get as close as possible to the dominant little compact.
Wimmer thinks it has with its new Polo R package that gives you 415 hp, nearly 200 more than stock and about 100 more than the rally car.
The performance is achieved through countless mods that include an upgraded turbo, intake, fuel pump, exhaust, intercooler and more. The changes can also impact the appearance, with optional OZ rims available.
Wimmer says that their pursuit of speed hasn’t been all consuming, though. The company has carefully chosen its mods to ensure that car is not only livable, but also long lasting.
The package will run you about $11,000, plus an extra $2,000 for the wheels. More pictures can be found here.
