Test driving a car just got a lot more convenient in Sweden thanks a new service from Volkswagen called Instant Test Drive. Instead of driving all the way to a dealership to do a couple laps of the block, VW will bring their car to you and let you drive wherever you like.
The service is a little like Uber or Lyft. When you need a ride you hail Instant Test Drive through their app. An employee drives the car you’d like to you and rides as your passenger as you drive to a location of your choosing. The employee then takes the car back to the dealership.
The service is a pretty clever way to get people test driving VWs, giving them chance to drive the test car where they normally would, instead of around a bunch of dealerships.
The service was launched last week in Sweden, but sadly there are no plans to bring such a service to North America.
