Breaking News: Geek Squad Still Exists (And Also Beetle No Longer Geekmobile)

The VW Beetle has been dethroned as America’s geekiest car. Its role as the Geek Squad car or “Geekmobile” has been usurped by some hybrid (Prius C) for reasons of mileage.

The Beetle has been the official Geek Squad car since 2002, back when computers required a whole desk and people still liked Windows.

The black and white liveried Beetles might still be seen racing to your grandpa’s house while they finish their life cycles, but a portion of them are being replaced immediately.

None of this is as surprising, though, as the fact that the Geek Squad still exists. Just… why?

At any rate, not being associated with this relic from the early oughts can only be a good thing for the Beetle’s image.

When we last left you, the humble little SportWagen was fresh from the development process with our friends at AWE Tuning, sporting a new downpipe, exhaust and intake, allowing things to breathe a bit easier.
