Watch: Golf R Beats a Ferrari at the Drag Strip

Reaction times are a wonderful thing, especially at the drag strip. Case in point, this Golf R that eats a Ferrari 458 Italia for lunch.

It’s hard to say just what’s happening under this Golf R’s hood but whoever’s behind the wheel (our money’s on that 75-year-old Brit from a few weeks ago) isn’t letting the side down.

The video shows the R take on more than just a Ferrari, too. Everything from a Skyline to an RS6 is taken on here and our sleeper hero beats most of them.

Project Golf SportWagen- Intro

I’ve never really been one for SUVs and crossovers. The current offerings aren’t the body-on-frame, go-anywhere specialty tools I remember from my youth, and what they lack in capability, they also lack in on-road performance.
