Juergen Rittersberger has been named the Volkswagen Group’s head of strategy, a post he will take up on September 1.
With 16 years of experience at Porsche, in which time he rose from the strategic projects department, to head of strategy, before becoming its General Representative in 2015.
Rittersberger will take over from Thomas Sedran, who is now at Volkswagen’s commercial vehicles division.
Sedran was Matthias Muller’s choice for strategy chief. Since Diess’s promotion to Group CEO this is one of a few changes in high positions, with ZF’s former CEO, Stefan Sommer, taking over the post of head of procurement.
