Aventador SVs Recalled to Stop You Driving the Wheels Off

Sure you might say that if you had a supercar you’d drive the wheels off of it. That’s just an expression, though, right? Well, if you’re driving a 2015 or 2016 Lamborghini Aventador SV, those wheels might come off a little more easily than you’d expect.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall, that on those cars the bolts that center and hold the brake discs to the wheel hub can come loose over time. Drive with those centering bolts loose, and the whole wheel could come off.

The fix is a simple one. Dealers will replace the centering bolts with liquid thread-locked bolts. That will stop them from coming loose. Fortunately, the recall only affects eight cars, SV coupes and roadsters of those years. Lamborghini will start notifying the owners and the recall is expected to start August 31.

Lamborghini had a recall last month to fix a concern about a stalling issue on around 7,000 cars worldwide. And in May, 11 of the 40 Centenarios needed a new sticker to fix a safety warning label.

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR

Event Report: Southern Worthersee 2015

There’s been much ado about this year’s SoWo since this past Saturday night, when Instagram, Facebook and other Social Media channels exploded with images and commentary focusing on the event’s bad eggs.  But first, let’s chat a bit about the event itself. Our journey started early Thursday morning as part of the Orchid Euro/Coolwater cruise to the event.  What should have taken about 12-13 hours ended up taking much more, as we stopped to help any Volkswagen that needed our assistance.  And while the extended commute time wasn’t ideal, it proved to highlight the ‘no person left behind’ spirit of the Volkswagen community- arguably one of the scene’s best qualities.
