Many convertibles are soft, luxurious things for a relaxing Sunday cruise – but not the Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder.
The Huracan Performante Spyder may be one of the most aggressive convertible cars on sale today. It keeps the 640 hp 5.2-liter V10 engine found in the hard top, but gives the user the option to roll back the roof and expose themselves to its earth-shaking ten-cylinder soundtrack. Lamborghini lists the weight at 3,322 lbs, which is 275 lbs heavier than the fixed roof variant. That means acceleration from 0-60 mph has slowed from 2.7s to 3.1s, but the top speed stays the same at 201 mph.

The top will open in just 17 seconds at speeds of up to 30 mph, and the small rear window can be electrically opened or closed to let the V10’s noise leak into the cabin. The car also features two movable rear fins with integrated ducts, which reduce turbulent air when driving with the top down for a more enjoyable driving experience.
The active aero system that helped the Huracan Performante lap the Nurburgring in record time, ‘Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva’, also appears on the Performante Spyder and is unaffected by the new soft top. The system adjusts the rear wing and front splitter to provide either increased aero load or reduced drag, boosting cornering speed in twisty sections of the track and allowing for better speed down the straights.
The Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder will go on sale in the US and Europe this summer. Prices will start at $308,859 in the US including destination.
