The Geneva Motor Show is always among the world’s fanciest and this year is no exception. With any number exotic supercars being unveiled, Bugatti still has a few tricks up its sleeve.
The French supercar-maker unveiled the Chiron Sport at the event. Without adding any power, Bugatti says the car is much faster around a track thanks to the work its done to make it handle better.
As ever, that work starts with shedding weight. By using carbon fiber in the wheels, the intercooler, and the windshield wiper—an industry first that reduces their weight by 77%–the Chiron Sport is 40 lbs lighter than the regular Chiron.
Next, the company added a dynamic handling package that revises the suspension. A new control strategy stiffens the springs (on average) making the Chiron Sport corner better.

“We have developed the Chiron Sport for customers wanting an even sportier driving experience with their Chiron, with improved lateral dynamics on winding roads,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti. “What was important for us was to leave unchanged the unique character of the Chiron, its combination of ultimate performance, longitudinal acceleration and maximum speed with luxury, comfort and everyday usability.”
Ringing in at about $3.6 million, it’s also the most expensive car at the Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti reckons. So everything’s as it should be.
