Building a Beetle pickup conversion is like trying back flip off a table. If you go to YouTube, you’ll find that a surprising number of people think they can do it, but the result is usually painful. Occasionally, though, someone succeeds and the result is really interesting, like today’s Find of the Day.
Up for sale on The Samba, this pickup truck was made in Athens and proves that Greeks know how to work with more than just marble.
All soft lines and creamy colors, this pickup really manages to look like maybe it was meant to be. Someone clearly took the time to design this, rather than just lopping off the back half of their Beetle.
The colors, the chrome, the bed, all of it works together to make something that’s surprisingly good looking. It’s not quite perfect, a Beetle pickup is always going to look a little odd, but it is one of the best conversions I’ve ever seen. And best of all, it can kind of haul.
Find it on The Samba for 16,000, I assume, Euros.
