Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) recently approved the diesel fix for over 800,000 vehicles. The vehicles in question are the Passat, the CC, and the EOS with 2.0L TDI EA189 engines.
German owners will soon be receiving letters in the mail and can then book an appointment to get their cars fixed.
This latest fix is a continuation of the recall that started in late April with the Golf 2.0L TDI Blue Motion.
“The launch of the retrofit campaign for the Passat, CC and Eos models involves a large number of cars that will now be recalled to the workshops,” says Jürgen Stackmann, member of the Board of Management for the Volkswagen brand. “I am pleased that the retrofitting of over 800,000 of our customers’ cars can now begin. Our dealerships and service partners are well prepared for the campaign.”
As with last time, not only will the cars meet all legal emissions requirements, there will be no affect on their performance. The fix also comes at no cost to the customer.
