Our spy photographers recently caught what looks like a Skoda Yeti testing in the wilds and if you look closely it shares a suspicious amount in common with the Tiguan, except that it has a Skoda front end.
We know now that Volkswagen AG is deeply interested in saving money since it announced its strategy for the next years, and the Tiguan has been getting great reviews, so it makes a certain amount of sense to leave well enough alone.
Skoda aren’t necessarily interested in reinventing the wheel, either. Last year they tested a new Roomster—that was eventually cancelled—and it was just a VW Caddy with a Skoda front end.
On the other hand, VW has recently made a habit of dressing up cars to look like other cars in order to fool the automotive media. Cast your mind back to the seven-seat SUVs (#Biguan) Volkswagen was testing earlier this year. Instead of using dazzle camouflage or bulky foam like other manufacturers, they dressed them up to look like Jeeps and Kias.
So what do you think? Is this clever camouflage or safe design?
