Gallery: 7th Annual Cruise-In at Classic Volkswagen

The incredibly friendly folks at Classic Volkswagen in Mentor, Ohio hosted their annual Cruise-In on Sunday August 5th. The award-winning dealership knows how to show their patrons a great time. There was kid’s face-painting, hats and shirts for sale, a very generous raffle, and enough fried chicken to feed Wolfsburg.

People from all over the Cleveland area showed off their rides in the blazing August sun. Cars came and went all day. There was everything from early Beetles to brand-new Golf Rs and even a BMW i8 were in attendance. Check out our gallery for pics from the day. And if that burgundy and white Westfalia next to the t-shirt stand catches your eye, Classic’s service department is restoring it. You’ll see it on their lot for sale soon.

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR

When we last left you, the humble little SportWagen was fresh from the development process with our friends at AWE Tuning, sporting a new downpipe, exhaust and intake, allowing things to breathe a bit easier. Project Golf SportWagen- Intro

I’ve never really been one for SUVs and crossovers. The current offerings aren’t the body-on-frame, go-anywhere specialty tools I remember from my youth, and what they lack in capability, they also lack in on-road performance. The current crop isn’t terribly good at handling or being efficient, which in my opinion are major components of our ideal driving experience.
