Find of the Day: Powder Blue Bunny

Enthusiasts always gravitate to the high performers in a company’s lineup. They spend hours searching for Corrados, R32s, Golf Rs, and GTIs. They too easily ignore a manufacturer’s more pedestrian models when searching for a project car. It’s unfortunate: they skip over many great base and mid-trim level cars.

This 1981 Rabbit is a prime example of a car not to look past. For starters, this survivor car has a mere 29,000 documented miles on the odometer. The body and interior bear witness to the lack of time on the road. This little bunny has exterior panels that are straight as an arrow. The paint looks like it’s in great condition, all trim is present, and the chrome shines brightly. It looks maybe ten years old; it’s hard to believe this little hatch is over 30 years old.

The interior is just as nice. The grey seats and dash complement the powder blue exterior perfectly. The door panels and upholstery are pristine. Even the carpet looks new; follow the link in the ad to the photos of the car at purchase. This ’81 is quite the time capsule.

The current owner has made some upgrades including a lowered suspension, ATS Cup alloy wheels, an NOS Abarth exhaust, and a wood Nardi steering wheel. There’s also an NOS roof rack and skinny black Euro bumpers. This car is nicely modified: classy and not overdone. And if these enhancements are not to your liking, all the original parts are included in the sale.

So if you’re looking for a low mile old-school ride, this one may be for you. The car is advertised on the Samba.com. It is located in Cleveland Ohio, and the current asking price is $11,000.

T-Prime Makes World Premiere at Beijing

With the new T-Prime Concept GTE that was revealed today, the company is showing off all of the technology you can look for in its coming models. The T-Prime is a full-size hybrid SUV that can go up to 31 miles on a charge and gets 87 mpg. The hybrid power station is good for 375 hp and 516 lb/ft of torque and puts the power down with 4MOTION all wheel drive. It’ll get you up to 60 in six seconds. The concept’s real party piece, though, is its interior, which features exclusively touch, gesture, and voice controls. Everything from the infotainment, to the display, and even the gears are controlled by touch-screen. Audi Teases the e-tron’s Headlights Ahead of LA Reveal

Audi will unveil its new electric car, the e-tron GT, in just a few short days, but until then, it will do what manufacturers can’t help but do and will tease it mercilessly. The latest teaser images first appeared on Germany’s Bild , and feature some of the EV’s lighting. While the taillights look reasonably familiar, albeit on an interesting, angular surface, the headlights feature a heretofore unseen light shape.
