VW wants to sell millions of electric cars by 2025 and to do that it will need the willing (or whatever) participation of its underbrands. Skoda’s version of the I.D. hatch, according to a report, has found a name.
Skoda might bring back the Felicia badge, according to a report from the UK’s AutoExpress. The name harks back to another small car that preceded the Fabia in the ‘90s.
Based on the MEB, electric-only platform the Felicia could come in two trims that would differ in range and luggage volume.
The Felicia E (sigh) will join Skoda’s also unnamed electric SUV that was shown in concept-form earlier this year as the Vision E Concept.
The Vision E Concept will compete against the Tesla Model X with a similar range but will cost about half as much.
They may be joined by a sedan/coupe that the brand’s R&D chief hinted at a few months ago. That’s probably headed to China before it goes to Europe, though.
Although we won’t get any of them here, it will still be interesting to see how the brands’ personality differences are expressed in EVs.
