Last week the Porsche Cayenne S Diesel set an obscure new Guinness World Record for the heaviest airplane towed by a production vehicle.
With video to prove it, the Cayenne dragged one of Air France’s 314-ton Airbus A380s 42 meters across the tarmac at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. According to Porsche Great Britain, it’s a completely stock Cayenne S Diesel with a 4.2-liter V8 that kicks out 385 hp and 85 Nm of twist, it even drove back to London afterward.
To put the Cayenne’s feat in context, towing the largest passenger aircraft in world is roughly equivalent to hauling more than 120 versions of itself.
Moving the A380 smashed the previous record by 126.7 tons–set in 2013 with a Nissan Patrol and a 170.9-ton cargo plane– and when the diesel was done, Porsche pulled it off a second time with the 570-hp Cayenne Turbo S just for fun.
Basically, if you buy one, your boat will love it.
