Alleged Production Volkswagen T-Cross Leaks

Although the T-Cross is still a ways away from being ready for the public, an image purporting to be official has leaked online of the undisguised, production-ready T-Cross.

Based on the MQB A0 platform (the same platform as the Polo) the T-Cross is the latest in a recent rash of SUVs that Volkswagen (and literally every other automaker) has promised.

Although the diminutive SUV is unlikely ever to find its way to this side of the Atlantic, there’s still good reason to pay attention. With a smaller SUV based on the Tiguan confirmed for America and with the recent proliferation of small SUVs in America (Ford Ecosport, Honda CH-R, etc) the T-Cross’s design is a preview of things to come.

With a grille not unlike the new Jetta’s and big foglights, the production T-Cross (if indeed this is it) does share quite a lot in common with the concept car that has been previewing it.

PZM 73rd Rally Poland Kicks Off

The WRC is in Poland and after only one stage there are three Volkswagens in the top five. Today’s special stage at the Mikolajki Arena is the first stage, but the rally doesn’t begin in earnest until Friday. Today’s super special stage was less than two minutes long, and less than a second separates the top five drivers. Hyundai Motorsport’s Thierry Neuville tops the charts today, followed closely by Volkswagen’s Andreas Mikkelsen. Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala are in fourth and fifth, respectively. Expect Ogier to climb the rankings, though. Not only did he win the rally last year, he has won every year since 2013.
