Vollkswagen’s single biggest market will be led by Stephan Woellenstein, the Group has announced.
Woellenstein was previously the managin director and the Volkswagen brand and execituve vice president of FAW-Volkswagen Sales Co.
In his new role as the CEO of Volkswagen China, Wollenstein will be tasked with “advancing the profile of the Volkswagen brand in China and steering its operations,” says VAG in a statement.
China alone bought more VW brand vehicles in the year so far (1.6 million) than did all of Europe. As a result, the market is a crucially important one for Volkswagen.
Woellenstein’s previous role at FAW-VW will be taken by Martin Jahn, who was the managing director of international fleet sales for the Volkswagen Group.
