Germany’s automobile authority, the KBA, has just approved a new round of TDI fixes that allows Volkswagen to fix another 460,000 cars. That number brings the total number of fixable vehicles to more than 5 million.
The technical fix is for VW Group models with the smaller 1.2L TDI, which is fitted to cars like the SEAT Ibiza and the Volkswagen Polo.
It is estimated that in all more than 8.5 million diesel cars were affected by the TDI scandal. VW is fast approaching that number, with roughly 60% of the cars now ready to be fixed.
Owners are being informed of the fix and then will be able to make an appointment at an authorized workshop to have it accomplished.
