Volkswagen Motorsport’s Jari-Matti Latvala is one of the top WRC drivers in the world, and you don’t get to be among the greatest without some serious love for the sport. In a new video from the WRC, Latvala takes you on a tour of is personal rally museum.
Although the museum is less than enormous, it features some seriously cool metal, including a Mk1 Golf GTI, an old-school Ford Escort, and the boots he wore to this year’s Rally Mexico, his first win of the season.
Latvala says that he got the idea for the museum when he visited fellow Finn and WRC champion, Juha Kankkunen’s car collection.
“Juha has a fantastic car collection,” says Latvala, “but because it’s quite private, I got the idea to make one for the public.”
The museum doesn’t just commemorate the good time, though. Latvala also has the crumpleed hood from the 2013 Rally Poland, during which he crashed.
Sadly, the rest of the Polo R WRC isn’t there, too, but it does look like there’s room in the museum for another car.
