Prius Rival Revealed in New Pictures

Volkswagen’s new Prius rival has been revealed in exclusive pictures on autoexpress.co.uk. The car will sit on a new electric MEB platform and the site says that the car may be called the XL3.

The car is part of VW’s plan to extend its electrified line-up by 2020. The XL3 is likely to mix an electric motor with a detuned 1.4 litre turbocharged gas engine. Overall fuel economy is expected approach 94mpg (according to UK figures).

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR
