Volkswagen Motorsport just tweeted a picture of their new track monster, the Golf GTI TCR, on track at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.
“Finally!” reads the tweet. “Our beauty’s first roll-out.” The picture is of the car’s initial competition testing, but the cars racing in the international TCR championship were handed over to customers on Friday, March 11.
The car is designed to compete in touring car racing. It generates 330 HP, has a six speed sequential gear box, and a racing chassis.
No news yet on how the car performed, but a concept version of the car developed in 2015 with Liqui Moly Team Engstler won the second race it was entered in at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
