With all the modified Golfs we’ve been featuring lately, thanks to Si Gray and his great pictures from Ultimate Dubs 2016, we thought we’d try something a little different for Find of the Day. This concours condition 1984 Rabbit GTI showed up on the forum a couple of days ago and it’s captured our hearts.
Forum user rrvwhw is the car’s second owner and he’s had it for 27 years. Amazingly, the car has seen fewer than 60,000 miles from new.
The car features a Neuspeed upper stress bar and throttle body, a Zender rear hatch spoiler, the lower stress bar from a 16V Scirocco, dual downpipes from a Caddy, and more.
The car is totally unmolested and squeaky clean. You get the sense that this is what the car would have looked like in the showroom—and having fetishized Mk1 GTIs for some time now, that leaves me angry at my bank account and all it lacks.
The car is located in Albany, New York and rrvwhw is asking $9,000.
