Lamborghini’s newly created historical arm will be gracing the nation’s craziest state with its prettiest car. The original, preproduction 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV will be at the Amelia Island concours event in Florida this weekend.
The car is the first ever restored by Lamborghini PoloStorico (that’s “historical centre” to you and me), which opened in 2015 and honours the company’s more than 50 years of car production.
This Miura is a preproduction model of the SV that was shown at Geneva. The SV featured different cam timing and altered carbs that combined for more than 15 extra HP. The model also lost the Miura’s distinctive eyelashes.
The restoration is particularly relevant, since the Miura celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
PoloStorico stripped the Verde Metallizata (metallic green) Miura down to its frame and spent more than a year restoring it. In addition to restorations, historical centre will also manage archives, keep original parts for historic vehicles, and certify historical cars.
