Mean Sounding VR6 Tuned on the Road

Check out this video that was posted to Youtube yesterday showing, what’s claimed to be, a Harlequin Golf VR6 being tuned on a dark highway in what appears to be the middle of nowhere. The video is shot from the passenger seat, by a person who’s also holding the laptop with the on board telemetry.

Speeds in excess of what is legally acceptable are shown on a glowing speedometer, but it’s the ease with which they’re reached that really impresses. The car accelerates from 60 to 100 in nearly no time.

Redditor 2rideascooter claims that it is his “buddy’s” VR6, which he says was just turbo’d on March 1. 2rideascooter also claims that the car is still being tuned.

Plug in your headphones and let the soothing duet of VR6 and turbo take you away to that lonely highway in your mind.

PZM 73rd Rally Poland Kicks Off

The WRC is in Poland and after only one stage there are three Volkswagens in the top five. Today’s special stage at the Mikolajki Arena is the first stage, but the rally doesn’t begin in earnest until Friday. Today’s super special stage was less than two minutes long, and less than a second separates the top five drivers. Hyundai Motorsport’s Thierry Neuville tops the charts today, followed closely by Volkswagen’s Andreas Mikkelsen. Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala are in fourth and fifth, respectively. Expect Ogier to climb the rankings, though. Not only did he win the rally last year, he has won every year since 2013.
