Volkswagen of America has announced pricing details for its new Tiguan. Starting at $25,345 for the base S model and rising up to $37,550 for the SEL Premium.
The new Tiguan is nearly 11 inches longer than the last generation Tiguan, with up to 56% more cargo space. Available with up to three rows, the new Tiguan also comes with more seating than its predecessor.
Volkswagen has also announced that the new Tiguan will be offered with a six year/72,000 mile transferable warranty, just like on the Atlas, which the automaker is calling the best in the industry.
Four trim levels are available: S, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium.
The Tiguan S is the most basic, model with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TSI engine making 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. As with all FWD models, three rows of seating are standard. On the Tiguan S with 4Motion AWD (starting at $26,645), though, the third row is a $500 option. It comes with 17-inch alloys, LED daytime running lights, a rearview camera, and more.
SE trim, meanwhile, starts at $29,080 and comes standard with an 8-inch infotainment screen, Voice Control, two additional USB ports, and more. The SE with 4Motion starts at $30,380.
With the SEL trim package the Tiguan starts at $32,550 ($33,850 for 4Motion). For that price, you get more driver assistance technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control that’s been improved for use in stop-and-go traffic.
Finally, the SEL Premium trim, starting at $36,250, comes with 19-inch rims, Adaptive Front-lighting System, rain-sensing wipers, a heated steering wheel, High Beam Control, Park Distance Control, Overhead View Camera, and a whole lot more.
Along with the trim levels, come optional packages. Driver assistance, for instance, an $850 option, comes with Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Breaking, Pedestrian Monitoring, and Blind Spot Monitoring.
A Panoramic Sunroof is available for $1,200 on the SE trim, while R-Line makes the Tiguan look a little more aggressive for $1,495.
The Tiguan will hit showrooms this summer.
