The Lululemon yoga pant, a high-paying job, the A6 Avant. Who says practicality isn’t sexy? But Audi is hammering the point home with its latest wagon, combining nearly 60 cubic feet of capacity with the latest Lichte design and all of the A6’s technology.
Like the A6, the Avant gains interior volume over its predecessor giving you more knee and shoulder room, as well as more room for luggage. With 20 cu.ft. of storage capacity with the rear seats up and 59.3 cu.ft. with them down, making it very nearly as capacious as the Q5 (26.8/60.4).
Under the hood, meanwhile, all A6 Avants will gain Audi’s 48-volt “mild-hybrid” system that helps fuel economy and power. With the ability to coast between 35 and 100 mph, the engine can shut down while you’re moving to help save gas.

The gas powerplant is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine offering 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.0-liter TDI brings 286 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque.
Inside, the A6 is packed with the latest high tech features, including the MMI touch response system. The all-digital operating system allows central vehicle functions to be placed on the MMI screen using drag-and-drop gestures, just like you would with a smartphone app. Up to seven drivers can store their preferred settings in individual user profiles, setting up to 400 parameters. There is, of course, the Audi virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch display available, when the car is equipped with MMI navigation plus.
Again like the A6, the Avant gets four-wheel steering to help make the car more agile through the corners and more stable on the highway.
