Full Pricing Details Released for the Jetta, Which Starts at $19,395

We already knew that the new Jetta would start at a price that was an itsy little bit cheaper than the outgoing model, but now we have full pricing and trim details.

The Mk7 Jetta will be offered in at least five different trim levels (six, if you include the GLI, but that’s not mentioned here, because VW wants more fanfare when it trots it out). They are S, SE, SEL, SEL Premium, and R-line.

The Jetta S starts at $19,395 (all prices include delivery fee) and features a standard six-speed manual and 16-inch silver “Rama” wheels. It also comes standard with LED headlights and taillights (and LED DRLs), as well as a chrome grille, a rearview camera, a 6.5-inch Composition Color touchscreen infotainment system, a USB port, four speakers, and Car-Net (as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink).

An eight-speed auto is also available, but you’ll have to shell out a little more cash for that model, which starts at $19,345. A driver assistance package is also available for people who don’t mind spending a little more. It’ll cost you $450 and gives you Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, as well as Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Traffic Alert.

The Jetta SE, meanwhile, starts at $23,005 and comes standard with the 8-speed auto. The SE comes with 16-inch, two-tone “Rama Black” wheels, as well as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control,18 keyless entry (and push-button start!), and it comes standard with Front Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Traffic Alert.

If you wait a bit and don’t mind spending $495, you can also get the Cold Weather Package, which includes a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and remote start.

The Jetta R-Line is basically a fancy version of the SE, starting at $23,845. For that extra $840, you get 17-inch “Trenton” wheels, a gloss black front grille, R-Line rear bumper with dual exhausts, black mirror caps, and R-Line badging. Inside you get black roof liner, two-tone black and grey seating with contrast stitching, and an XDS electronic diff. Plus you can add the same cold weather package for the same price and about the same time (mid-model year) as the SE.

The Jetta SEL comes in at $25,265 and comes with standard LED Projector headlights with signature LED DRLs, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, drive mode selection, 10-color customizable wrap-around ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit screen (which replaces the gauges with a screen). You also get a 400 Watt Beats Audio system, an 8-inch infotainment screen, two USB ports, voice control, as well as standard Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Control, active Lane Keeping System, and the Cold Weather Package will be available at the same time as the SE, for the same $495.

Finally, the Jetta SEL Premium starts at $27,795, featuring 17-inch two-tone “Tornado Metallic” wheels, the R-Line bumper, fog lights, and side mirrors with integrated turn signals. Inside, you get leather sport comfort seats, ventilated front seats, power driver’s seat with memory function, the 8-inch infotainment screen, navigation, and an alarm system.

As we know, the Jetta comes with a 1.4-liter TSI engine making 147 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. It joins the rest of the rest of the VW lineup (pretty much) on the MQB platform allowing it to grow a little longer, wider, and taller.

Expect it to show up at your local dealer very soon as it’s being promised for the second quarter of 2018.

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR

Barrett-Jackson just wrapped up its 46th annual Scottsdale auction, which set all kinds of records, including the sale of Kindig-It Design’s 1965 21-Window Deluxe Bus for $302,500 (pictured above and below). Not only did that bus set an auction record, it was the highest priced Volkswagen in Scottsdale that week.
