Volkswagen of America did much better this September than it did last. With more than 32,000 vehicles sold last month, the brand is doing 33% than it did in 2016.
All told, VW has sold more than 250,000 vehicles in America so far in 2017, nearly 10% more than it did last year.
Naturally, sales were helped along by the Atlas, more than 4,000 of which sold last month vs 0 a year ago, but sales were good for VW’s stalwarts, too.
Despite some trouble for the Golf R and the e-Golf, the Golf family sold nearly 25% this year than it did last, while sales of the Jetta rose more than 45%.
The new Tiguan, too, performed pretty well. With more than 3,000 units moved, it outsold the old the Tiguan in 2016. Together with the 1,200 or so Mk1 Tiguan’s that also sold, the SUVs are starting to pull their weight.
