World’s Oldest RHD GTI Will be at GTI International this Weekend

GTI fans from around the UK and Europe will be meeting this weekend in Shakespeare’s home town of Stratford-upon-Avon to celebrate the Golf GTI. Over the course of the weekend, they will line up their cars in an attempt to make a giant GTI logo.

The logo will include more than 200 GTIs celebrating the car’s 40^th anniversary. Among them will be at least one of every generation GTI, as well as what is believed to be the oldest right-hand-drive GTI in existence.

Owners will also have the chance to race their cars at the Shakespeare County Raceway drag strip. The ¼ mile races will be run by an expert team of marshals with professional timing equipment.

And finally, of course, there will be a show and shine full of show quality and modified Volkswagens.

More than 40 Volkswagen clubs and a number of traders and exhibitors, selling aftermarket parts.

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR

I’ve never really been one for SUVs and crossovers. The current offerings aren’t the body-on-frame, go-anywhere specialty tools I remember from my youth, and what they lack in capability, they also lack in on-road performance.
