Sure, the Volkswagen Motorsport Polo R WRC is dominating this season’s World Rally Championship—as it dominated the last three seasons—but what about next season? Well, things are looking good, as you can tell watching this latest video of the 2017 car testing in Finland.
As we reported earlier in the year, the new Polo R WRC will have more power, more aero, and less weight: a great combination if ever there was one. In the video below, you get to see the new car take off from a standing start and take off from the ground.
The standing start is pretty entertaining, because the soft suspension set up on the rally car means that the butt dips down lower than a twerker’s and it kicks up more gravel than an angry baseball player.
Taking flight is when it’s most impressive, though, for no other reason than seeing a car jump is inherently entertaining. I will never weary of seeing airborne rally cars.
