Jari-Matti Latvala is hoping to win his fourth straight home (Finnish, that is) rally this weekend.
This is an important race for the Finn, who sits in fourth place overall in the championship standings at the season’s halfway point. Although fourth is nothing to sneeze at, Latvala, who finished last year’s season in second, was hoping to be in first this season.
Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for Volkswagen, his teammate Sebastien Ogier is the current leader, followed by their teammate Anders Mikkelsen.
As we’ve come to expect, Volkswagen Motorsport is in control this season, and the Rally Finland—both famous and infamous for its enormous speeds—should help them maintain control.
