As of July 25, Volkswagen Group will halt the sale of most of its vehicles in South Korea, following controversy over the emission scandal.
“We have decided to suspend sales of the affected models to reduce confusion among dealers and customers,” VW South Korea spokesperson told Reuters.
South Korea’s environment ministry has already threatened to revoke the certification of 32 VW Group models, but were waiting on a trial set for later this month.
Volkswagen will decide whether or not to take legal action against South Korea—as did Nissan earlier this year under similar circumstances—after it presents its case to South Korea’s environment ministry later this month.
