As VW Germany likes to do every year for Wörthersee, Volkswagen Australia likes to challenge its apprentices to modify its cars. And Australia has added an interesting twist: adding performance goals.
Last year, they asked the apprentices to get an Amarok around Sidney Motorsport Park faster than a GTI (they succeeded). This year, the team had a new car and a new goal: get the Arteon to 62 mph in under 4 seconds.
With a little help from Bilstein, APR, and Simon Murray, a Sidney based street artist who designed the art car wrap, the team succeeded.
With more than 360 kW (480 hp) and little to nothing but a roll cage left in the car, the Arteon got up to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
