APR Bringing 536 hp Golf R to SEMA

Volkswagen tuner APR is bringing a great big Golf R to the SEMA show next week. Well, it’s not actually bigger. It’s great big in the power department. The 2.0L turbo-four in the hot hatch will be absolutely smoking. APR is promising 536 hp in what the company is calling the RLMS.

There’s more than just power in the car. The RLMS is a touring car-style build. An APR Stage 3+ turbo system gives the go, but the car will also be wearing a DTM-style full wide-body kit, two-piece wheels, OMP racing harness, and a custom roll cage. The Toyo tires fitted under that kit will need to be wide to put all that power to the pavement.

The company isn’t giving a whole lot more detail than that, but it sounds intriguing. A hot hatch that offers up more than 500 hp goes beyond just hot hatch. Maybe we’ll call this one a magma hatch? Who doesn’t like piping hot magma? What, is that an Austin Powers reference in 2018? It is, but that’s what you get when APR only teases something that sounds so massive.

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR

When we last left you, the humble little SportWagen was fresh from the development process with our friends at AWE Tuning, sporting a new downpipe, exhaust and intake, allowing things to breathe a bit easier. Audi Teases A7 Details with New Video

Audi’s gearing up to unveil the latest iteration of the A7, and to get you excited they’ve released this teaser video focusing on the details. The lights, the lines, the interior are all teased here, and though on its own the video doesn’t give us a strong sense of what the whole car will look like, with all of the other details we’ve seen so far we now have a pretty good sense of what’s coming. As you might expect, the updated A7 will look broadly similar to the outgoing A7, but will differ in the details. Based on what we’ve seen, the changes look good. As was reported yesterday, we’re expecting a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine, a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo, a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, and an RS7 that could reportedly make up to 700 hp thanks to the Porsche Panamera’s hybrid drivetrain.
