Video: Volkswagen Motorsport Tests Ahead of Rally Germany

After a hard fought 1-2 finish in Finland, Volkswagen Motorsport heads to home soil, looking to continue their pursuit of the 2015 WRC title. But before the first stage gets underway, hours and hours of testing will be completed. Failure to prepare is preparing to fail, after all.

With less than two weeks until the green flag drops, Jari-Matti Latvala, Co-Driver Miikka Anttila and the entire Volkswagen Motorsport team is putting in valuable testing time on the backroads of Germany. In the clip above captured by YouTube user LiveRacingTV24, Latvala and Anttila can be seen blasting around in their Polo R WRC, focused on capturing their second overall win in a row. We’ll be pulling for them.

Rally Germany gets underway on August 20th.

I’ve never really been one for SUVs and crossovers. The current offerings aren’t the body-on-frame, go-anywhere specialty tools I remember from my youth, and what they lack in capability, they also lack in on-road performance.
