Find of the Day: 370hp Corrado Racecar

Blame it on the lack of sleep, or the sunburn, or perhaps just the atmosphere at this past weekend’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, but we’re thinking of selling everything we own and going racing. It might not be the best plan we’ve ever had, but thankfully, this Corrado might just be a fairly inexpensive way to achieve roughly the same result.

Found over on Racecarsdirect.com (via Bring a Trailer), this 1.8T-powered track car is a proven winner, and said to be fairly reliable. Seeing as this Corrado has no sunroof, no electric spoiler and no G-lader to worry about, it does seem possible. Moving past the mechanicals, the car just looks the part, wearing a WRC-inspired livery.

This Corrado is currently for sale in the UK at an asking price of £14,500, plus shipping to the US. There are certainly worse ways to spend money and go racing.

The current offerings aren’t the body-on-frame, go-anywhere specialty tools I remember from my youth, and what they lack in capability, they also lack in on-road performance.
