Continuing with the momentum from January, Volkswagen of America has again seen a double-digit increase in deliveries for the month of February. Up 12% from last year, VWoA sold a total 22,321 vehicles last month.
That moves the total so far for 2017 to 48,655, up nearly 15% from 2016.
The strong sales are due in large part to the Golf family, which Americans bought more than 5,800 of in February of 2017. That amounts to an increase of more than 60%. All members of the Golf family did well, but the Golf R and the Sportwagen did especially well, with increases of 70% and 230% respectively.
The Beetle and the Passat, meanwhile, also did well in the shortest month of the year. Beetle deliveries rose nearly 50% to 1,300, while Passat sales increased nearly 40%.
Unfortunately it wasn’t all good news for VW, as the Jetta, by volume the brand’s biggest seller, saw a drop in sales of 14%. Ultimately, though, the combined sales from other models more than made up for the drop.
