The Bentley Bentayga Just Got Even More Luxurious

The company calls it “the ultimate luxury SUV.”

The Bentley Bentayga is already the world’s most expensive SUV, but that hasn’t stopped the British automaker from making an even more expensive version. Turning to its in-house personal commissioning division, Mulliner, Bentley has created the Bentayga Mulliner and a special one-off version will be shown at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show next week. The model is the new flagship for the Bentayga range and aims to set new standards in automotive luxury.

Offered for the first time on the Bentayga is the optional Duo Tone paintwork, further complemented by unique 22-inch wheels. Inside, there’s a Mulliner Bottle Cooler and a new veneer concept. Other minor changes include a unique exterior badge and the addition as standard of body-colored lower bodywork and bright chromed lower bumper grilles.

The two-tone scheme carries into the cabin with seven suggested color ways available. The interior color split has the front and rear seats finished in different hide colors, while the hand-stitched hides are finished with unique Mulliner embroidery and contrast stitching. The exclusive veneer concept is called Ombré Burr Walnut Veneer, showcasing a unique wood transition from Black through to Burr Walnut as the veneer wraps around the interior. There is also a special veneered panel that replaces the standard central console fascia.

Like other Bentley Mulliner models, the powertrain remains untouched with the model continuing to offer 600 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque from a 6.0-liter W12 engine.

No pricing was announced, but the standard Bentley Bentayga starts from $229,100. The new Bentley Bentayga Mulliner will be built in limited numbers and will be available to order in spring 2017.

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR

PZM 73rd Rally Poland Kicks Off

The WRC is in Poland and after only one stage there are three Volkswagens in the top five. Today’s special stage at the Mikolajki Arena is the first stage, but the rally doesn’t begin in earnest until Friday. Today’s super special stage was less than two minutes long, and less than a second separates the top five drivers. Hyundai Motorsport’s Thierry Neuville tops the charts today, followed closely by Volkswagen’s Andreas Mikkelsen. Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala are in fourth and fifth, respectively. Expect Ogier to climb the rankings, though. Not only did he win the rally last year, he has won every year since 2013.
