Get More Plus with the ABT R8

Audi did a damn good job with the R8 V10 Plus. It’s fast, ferocious, and surprisingly reasonable, but what if you wanted more of the first two and less of the last? Enter ABT.

The Volkswagen Group’s biggest fans, ABT Sportsline, are at it again, tuning the R8 V10 Plus to make it even wilder. With some new aero bits festooned about the body and some careful performance mods, the tuners have managed to make something special.

With better exhausts and carbon tipped twin tailpipes, the ABT R8 makes some 630 hp. To go with the 20 extra horses, ABT also shaved off 50 lbs. Finally the tuning house stuck some specially designed coilovers onto the car to make sure that it doesn’t handle as wildly as it looks.

And boy does it look wild. With a new front lip, skirts to go on either side, and winglets on either side of the new lip, it’s enough to impress even Andrian Newey.

PZM 73rd Rally Poland Kicks Off

The WRC is in Poland and after only one stage there are three Volkswagens in the top five. Today’s special stage at the Mikolajki Arena is the first stage, but the rally doesn’t begin in earnest until Friday. Today’s super special stage was less than two minutes long, and less than a second separates the top five drivers. Hyundai Motorsport’s Thierry Neuville tops the charts today, followed closely by Volkswagen’s Andreas Mikkelsen. Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala are in fourth and fifth, respectively. Expect Ogier to climb the rankings, though. Not only did he win the rally last year, he has won every year since 2013.
