Team BMR has entered a 3 year deal with Subaru, officially putting an end to the Volkswagen CC’s time in the British Touring Car Championship. Coming just months after the conclusion of a very successful 2015 campaign where the team scored 10 wins, and went on to secure the overall teams’ championship, the move does not exactly come as a surprise.
With the addition of Jason Plato in 2015, the team gained an extremely notable and capable driver- a move which would ultimately help them to score full factory backing. One extremely successful season later, Subaru stepped up with an offer, and BMR understandably accepted. While we’d be remiss to say that we weren’t disappointed that CC’s would no longer be two-wheeling around the British countryside, at least the Subaru is a wagon.
