At the request of the VW tuner and enthusiast community, KONI has tested and approved the KONI Sport and KONI FSD struts and shocks for the USA built 2012-2016 Volkswagen Passat known as the NMS (New Midsize Sedan) chassis. The adjustable KONI Sport part numbers 8741 1488SPORT and 8040 1352SPORT as well as the patented ride control technology of KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) part number 2100 4026 can officially be used on both US and European built Passats for improved handling performance, ride quality, and tuning adjustability. These KONI dampers are available and shipping to dealers and consumers in North America now and carry the standard KONI limited lifetime warranty.

SPORT KONl Sport struts and shocks are the industry leader in externally adjustable damping, establishing the ultimate user control. By easily adjusting between a soft comfortable ride setting to a more firm aggressive ride, KONI Sport transforms the “daily driver” into the weekend track machine without hassle. With its very broad range of adjustability, KONI SPORT is a great choice to upgrade a stock, original equipment (OE) suspension or when matched with lowering springs and other performance upgrades for better handling and a more aggressive look and road feel. KONI Sport carries a limited lifetime warranty as with most KONI products.
FSD KONI FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) patented technology is the first premium no-compromise shock absorber in the world. FSD offers superior performance handling when installed on a original equipment (OE) suspension or when matched with other performance upgrades without degrading ride quality for cars and light trucks, SUVs, motor homes, and service vehicles while improving grip and safety in daily driving. KONI FSD automatically adjusts to road conditions as well as driving style, all within a fraction of a second guaranteeing greater stability, control and driving pleasure.  KONI FSD carries a lifetime warranty as with most KONI products.

Review: Saying Goodbye to the CC V6

For all its size and its global reach, Volkswagen is still, in many ways, a deeply human company. There was, for instance, the Bugatti Veyron an ego project if ever there was one. Then the purchase of Ducati, a move most called folly. And then there was the Phaeton, the Volkswagen that most folks can’t afford. None of them made good business sense, but they were all deeply interesting and they all are evidence of the heart that beats at the center of VW. With the approach debut of the Arteon, it seems like a good time to look back on its sadly departing predecessor. The version I drove, because I live in Canada, is a V6 Wolfsburg Edition, which apparently isn’t available in the States. Nor is the V6, not as...

More 3.0-Liter TDI Settlement Details Expected by January 31

Volkswagen and the TDI Plaintiff’s Steering Committee were in court today for another status conference following the agreement in principal reached earlier this week. Little new information was given at the conference held before Judge Charles Breyer today, but the court ordered the parties to develop a formal settlement agreement, class action notices, and a class notice plan by January 31, 2017. For now, though, owners still don’t know how much to expect in compensation. Elizabeth Cabraser, lead Counsel for the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee reaffirmed in a statement today that the compensation would be “substantial.” The potential cost to Volkswagen is widely reported to exceed $1 billion, though, with an additional $225 million going into an environmental trust to help offset excess emissions. Buy back offers are still only expected for the oldest 20,000 of the roughly 80,000 VW Group vehicles sold in America with the 3.0-liter TDI engine. Those vehicles are mostly SUVs, like ...
