Volkswagen Officially Announces Details of 2.0L TDI Goodwill Package

Volkswagen of America has officially announced details of their 2.0L TDI Goodwill Package, the first step in working to restore the trust of owners and the general public. The program, launching later today, will consist of the following-

$500 Volkswagen Prepaid Visa® Loyalty Card
$500 Volkswagen Dealership Card
No-charge 24-hour Roadside Assistance for three years

In order for customers to claim the offer, they must go to www.vwdieselinfo.com to verify that their vehicle is affected, and a 2.0L TDI vehicle must have been registered or leased in their name before November 8th, 2015. Later today, current owners and lessees will also receive a letter or email with additional information about the program. Referring to the 2.0L TDI Goodwill Package, Volkswagen of America’s President and CEO said, “We are working tirelessly to develop an approved remedy for affected vehicles. In the meantime, we are providing this Goodwill Package as a first step towards regaining our customers’ trust.” Owners of affected Audi vehicles will be eligible for a similar program, to be launched on November 13th.

PZM 73rd Rally Poland Kicks Off

The WRC is in Poland and after only one stage there are three Volkswagens in the top five. Today’s special stage at the Mikolajki Arena is the first stage, but the rally doesn’t begin in earnest until Friday. Today’s super special stage was less than two minutes long, and less than a second separates the top five drivers. Hyundai Motorsport’s Thierry Neuville tops the charts today, followed closely by Volkswagen’s Andreas Mikkelsen. Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala are in fourth and fifth, respectively.
