USP Presents Billet Spulen Spherical Catch Can Kits for 2.0TSI and 2.0T FSI

With the introduction of direct injection engines, intake valve carbon buildup has become a common occurrence especially on the 2.0T engines. Carbon buildup on the intake valves is largely attributed to oil vapors being recirculated back into the intake system. While the 2.0T does feature a factory oil separator, it is prone to failure and does a poor job of separating oil from air that is recirculated into the engine’s intake. In order to reduce intake valve carbon build up and properly separate oil vapors from recirculated air, a catch can system is needed.

Far from ordinary, the Spulen Spherical Catch Can installs adjacent to your coolant reservoir and provides a factory appearance. The purpose of a catch can is to capture oil vapors from your engine rather than allowing to be recirculated back into the engine. By capturing these oil vapors your engine will run more efficiently and avoid costly carbon build up on engine components.

The Spulen Billet Catch Can is a true piece of art. Constructed from a solid block of billet aluminum each catch can is carefully machined to precise tolerances. The interior of the catch can features a dual chamber design and baffle plate to provide superior separation of air and oil vapors.

Attention to detail is a must, each catch can features dual built-in, -10an male fittings for easy plumbing in a variety of applications. A conveniently located dipstick allows you to easily check the level inside of the catch can. The bottom of the catch can features a built in mounting bracket with dual M6 mounting holes allowing an endless amount of mounting options. An easy open petcock fitting located on the bottom of the catch can allows you to easily empty the contents of the catch can. While a removable low profile bolt is located out of site and allows you to easily swivel the catch can or disassemble it for thorough cleaning.

The Spulen Spherical Catch Can Kit features a billet CNC adapter plate with internal baffling to replace the failure prone factory PCV valve. Teflon lined AN hoses connect the adapter plate to the spherical catch can. The catch can features an internal baffle and convenient drain valve for easy draining. A miniature oil dipstick is also positioned on the catch can so you know when the catch can needs to be drained. A multiple port boost tap is also included to cap off the open port on the intake manifold where the factory PCV valve connected.

Features:

  • Removes harmful oil vapors from intake system
  • Reduces carbon deposits, increasing performance and fuel economy
  • CNC adapter plate
  • -10an hoses
  • Billet Spherical catch can

Waterfest Moves to Atco Dragway

Waterfest 24 will be held at Atco Dragway, in Atco, New Jersey. The summer event will take place at its new venue on July 21 and 22. Macau Gets Messy with 16-Car Pileup

The Macau Grand Prix is always good for an accident or two or 16— you may remember Audi’s race ending crash last year —and this year’s event didn’t disappoint. It didn’t take long for things to get messy on the tight road circuit. On the opening lap of the qualifying race a 16-car pileup caused the race to be suspended. Things kicked off when Daniel Juncadella hit a wall on the exit of Police bend, one of the tightest parts of the already tight circuit. The following car of Raffaele Marciello was able to avoid the carnage, but Laurens Vanthoor, who was in the upside-down Audi that ended the race last year, could not avoid Juncadella and together they blocked up the road pretty much completely. “I couldn’t see him [Juncadella] at first. Then I saw the car standing still,” Vanthoor told Motorsport. “I tried to brake but it was just understeering and I couldn’t do anything. There’s room for one car there and you’re blind.” Fourteen more cars would eventually crash into the corner c

The First of its Kind: Integrated Engineering Releases Highly-Anticipated IE450T MK6 Golf R Turbo Kit

After two long years of development, the team at Integrated Engineering has finally announced the release of their IE450T kit for the MK6 Golf R. With their turbo kit bolted on right out of the box, the sport AWD hatch is transformed into a 450bhp monster, with hardly any noticeable increase in spool time. In fact, 435 ft-lbs of torque are achieved at all four wheels, at a mere 3300rpm! By now you are probably asking yourself how this is even possible on a 2.0L engine that made nearly half that power from the factory. By employing true twin-scroll technology into the cast turbo manifold and pairing it with a state-of-the-art BorgWarner EFR turbocharger, IE was able to keep spool time at a minimum and bring the fastest-spooling big turbo setup to the market. “We wanted to offer a kit that would dramatically increase the power output without making the car lose its amazing street-friendly drivability,” mentioned one of the IE engineers. We are told the IE450T leaves the car driving jus
