Revo Releases Big Brake Kit Upgrade Kit

Improves stopping power under any condition!

Revo recommends increased braking performance any time you are adding more power to your vehicle. If you’re capable of achieving higher speed, your vehicle needs to deal with that speed safely and reliably.

The Revo by Alcon Big Brake Kit is engineered to improve your vehicles stopping power in any condition. Our Big Brake Kit is derived from race winning technology and capable of delivering consistent stopping power whether coming up to a stoplight or a 2nd gear corner at the end of a 140mph straight on your favorite track, you can rely on this system stop after stop!

Brake Calipers:

Revo by Alcon Calipers are cast from one piece of aluminum. The single casting design creates an incredibly stiff monoblock caliper. This monoblock design means significantly less flex in the caliper than other manufacturing processes and allows for less pedal travel as the brake fluid is only applying force to the Pistons and not flexing the body of the caliper itself. In short, more of your braking effort is translated directly from your foot, to the Pistons, to the pads and then to the rotors. This leads to improved and repeatable braking performance.

Floating Rotors:

A “Floating Rotor” design has been used all over the world in motorsport applications for many years. The rotors found on most race vehicles have too much float for a daily driven vehicle causing more noise than most would want from their road car. We have engineered a unique noise reducing method which eliminates noise while allowing for the thermal expansion associated with repeated high speed braking.

BENEFITS

  • Eliminates fade & warping
  • Quicker reaction time
  • Improved pedal feel

TESTING

To ensure our brake kit would meet the constant high stress driving of track days, sprints and fast road driving we punished our kits to the maximum. Constant heavy braking testing was carried out to ensure no fade occurred back to back against stock braking system on our MK7 VW Golf R. As well as the track testing 10 runs of back to back 60-0mph and 100-0mph was done to show the benefit of the Revo braking system. As well as measuring the stopping distances and times over the 10 runs of each speed thermal testing was also done to show the difference in heat displacement over our 2 piece floating design against a factory 1 piece design

Review: Saying Goodbye to the CC V6

For all its size and its global reach, Volkswagen is still, in many ways, a deeply human company. There was, for instance, the Bugatti Veyron an ego project if ever there was one. Then the purchase of Ducati, a move most called folly. And then there was the Phaeton, the Volkswagen that most folks can’t afford. Not only were these moves all strange, I’m sure that they made VW’s accountants furious. None of them made good business sense, but they were all deeply interesting and they all are evidence of the heart that beats at the center of VW. Among these follies is the CC, a car that everyone agrees is rakishly handsome, but that no one really wanted to buy. The car couldn’t last, but the world is brighter for its having been in it. With the approach debut of the Arteon, it seems like a good time to look back on its sadly departing predecessor. The version I drove, because I live in Canada, is a V6 Wolfsburg Edition, which apparently isn’t available in the States. Nor is the V6, not as...

Waterfest Moves to Atco Dragway

Waterfest 24 will be held at Atco Dragway, in Atco, New Jersey. The summer event will take place at its new venue on July 21 and 22. Long held in Englishtown, New Jersey, the festival has been such a large part of the VW scene that the latest iteration of the Golf even comes with optional “Englishtown” wheels . The new venue, however, is an NHRA drag track a scant 52 miles southwest of Englishtown. The ¼ mile drag track opened in 1960, which makes it the oldest drag strip in New Jersey. The announcement came today on a social media post that announced the new location. Waterfest is North America’s largest VW/Audi show. As many 20,000 people show up for the annual show, making the second largest show in the world—with Worthersee being number one. 2018 will be Waterfest’s 24 th year in existence.
