Volkswagen Going Pink for Red Bull GRC Final Weekend

To celebrate the team’s first manufacturer’s title in the Red Bull Global Rallycross series, Volkswagen is painting its Beetles pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer.

Designed to look like Volkswagen’s new #PinkBeetle, points leader Tanner Foust and reigning world champion Scott Speed will trade in their liveries for new pink ones.

Speed will drive the No. 41 #PinkBeetle Beetle GRC.

Foust, meanwhile, will be looking to steal Speed’s championship in the No. 34 Rockstar Perfectberry Beetle GRC.

“We’ve had a lot of success with our Beetle GRC this season, so it will be fun to mark the end of the season with a fresh coat of paint,” says Scott Speed in a press release. “The #PinkBeetle already has lots of eager fans across the VW community, so I’m looking forward to adding some excitement to the launch of this special car with our 560-horsepower version.”

Volkswagen’s pink Beetles are about more than just the #FuschiaFusca, though. They’re also about helping Giuliana Rancic’s FAB-U-Wish initiative, which grants wishes to young women undergoing breast cancer treatment.

Volkswagen is currently auctioning off a #RoseBug at charitybuzz.com. The winner of that auction will have the opportunity to fly to New York for the Pink Agenda’s annual gala on October 13 to meet Giuliana Rancic and will be the first US owner of a #PinkBeetle.

“It’s an awesome opportunity to be able to support a great cause like The Pink Agenda through our racing,” says Foust. “The Perfectberry Rockstar Beetle GRC will be hard to miss out on the track and I’m looking forward to hopefully put it front and center—at the top of the podium.”

Foust, Speed, and the #PinkBeetles will be in LA on the weekend of October 9 for the final event of the 2016 rallycross season.

Project SportWagen: Going Stage 2 with APR

Audi Teases A7 Details with New Video

Audi’s gearing up to unveil the latest iteration of the A7, and to get you excited they’ve released this teaser video focusing on the details. The lights, the lines, the interior are all teased here, and though on its own the video doesn’t give us a strong sense of what the whole car will look like, with all of the other details we’ve seen so far we now have a pretty good sense of what’s coming. As you might expect, the updated A7 will look broadly similar to the outgoing A7, but will differ in the details. Based on what we’ve seen, the changes look good. As was reported yesterday, we’re expecting a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine, a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo, a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, and an RS7 that could reportedly make up to 700 hp thanks to the Porsche Panamera’s hybrid drivetrain.
