Teramont Will Get up to 280HP

Volkswagen News released a new video about their new Midsize SUV yesterday and in it they revealed that it will produce either 238hp or 280hp.

The Teramont-or-whatever will be getting 280hp out of the 3.6L V6, just like the Passat and the Touareg, which produce 258lb-ft and 266lb-ft of torque, respectively.

To make 238hp, meanwhile, it will use their ubiquitous 2.0L TSI unit. Interestingly, though, this will be the Volkswagen of America’s second most powerful application of the engine (only beaten by the Golf R with 292hp). That’s probably not surprising, though, given the size of the thing.

Though the body is still hidden under camouflage, the video does reveal that the Teramont-or-whatever will be more than 5 meters long (about 16 and a half feet).

The Teramont-or-whatever is Volkswagen’s attempt to play to Americans’ taste for big family SUVs. It will seat seven, have lots of cargo space, and come with all-wheel-drive.

This is an important car for Volkswagen, which is trying to convince the American market that it’s a full-line manufacturer. With the Teramont-or-whatever, the Golf Alltrack, and the Tiguan LWB, Volkswagen will look to offer more and more four-wheel-drive cars.

T-Prime Makes World Premiere at Beijing

With the new T-Prime Concept GTE that was revealed today, the company is showing off all of the technology you can look for in its coming models. The T-Prime is a full-size hybrid SUV that can go up to 31 miles on a charge and gets 87 mpg. The hybrid power station is good for 375 hp and 516 lb/ft of torque and puts the power down with 4MOTION all wheel drive. It’ll get you up to 60 in six seconds. Audi Teases the e-tron’s Headlights Ahead of LA Reveal

Audi will unveil its new electric car, the e-tron GT, in just a few short days, but until then, it will do what manufacturers can’t help but do and will tease it mercilessly. The latest teaser images first appeared on Germany’s Bild , and feature some of the EV’s lighting. While the taillights look reasonably familiar, albeit on an interesting, angular surface, the headlights feature a heretofore unseen light shape.
