Every week I become more upset about the fact that I live nowhere near mountains and this crazy pink Golf (#PinkGolf) is only making me pine more for the alpine parts of this great land. Shot racing in the actual Alps in Italy, this Mk1 Golf is blessed with 16 valves and individual throttle bodies. According to the video’s uploader, the result is a car that red lines at 10,000 rpm. Thanks to all of those revs, this Golf  sounds like a bassier version of super bike and all I want in life now is an early water cooled engine that revs this high. Although the color might be questionable, the body kit isn’t. With massively flared wheel arches and a massive diffuser this Golf not only sounds furious, but looks it, too. RM Sotheby’s is starting the new year off right , offering you the chance to own the very last Bugatti Veyron Super Sport ever produced. This Veyron SS, serial number three hundred (it’s fancier when you spell it out, just ask my neighbors) will cross the the auction block next month and is expected to take home about $2.5 million. The white on white Veyron Super Sport was first purchased in Miami (shocker) and was later shown at the Geneva Motor Show. Although it’s now four years old, I guess it wasn’t much fun to drive, because in that time it’s only covered 400 miles, a shocking 269 of which were added by Bugatti under testing. The buyer will also have a hard time finding parts for this car, as only eight of the total 48 made were designed for sale in the US. Therapy pets are staples at many healthcare facilities across the country. The Federal Trade Commission is causing a stink over mobile phones that were lost in the wake of the TDI scandal. The government agency is suggesting that the phones, which may have contained evidence relevant to the case against Volkswagen, were intentionally destroyed by the automaker. “In the context of the massive scandal at the center of this case, 23 lost or bricked phones is a bright red flag, especially when they include phones that belonged to important individuals,” said FTC attorneys in a court filing. The FTC is now asking Judge Breyer to order further questioning against a designated corporate witness. Volkswagen, for its part, contends that the witness, Manuel Sanchez, has already answered thousands of questions. Despite that, the FTC says Sanchez “was either unprepared or otherwise unable to provide responsive information.” If, indeed, any evidence is missing, it would be bad news for VW and could result in increased fines. Details are coming in on the eighth installment of the  Fast and Furious  franchise, entitled  The Fate of the Furious. The information was officially released on Instagram in a teaser post last week. On Sunday, December 11, the full trailer was revealed, complete with automotive carnage and gratuitous use of explosives. The lineup of actors and actresses stays mostly the same, which means we know we’ll see Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jason Statham and Nathalie Emmanuel. New faces will include Charlize Theron as the villain along with Scott Eastwood. Paul Walker’s brother Cody is also rumored to have a role in the movie. Acclaimed director F. Gary Gray has signed on the direct the movie. The Fate of the Furious  will be released on April 14, 2017. Oh, the ‘80s. They were a time rich with bad mustaches, worse camera equipment, and great hot rodding. Thanks to the wonders of the incredible now, you can invite three mustachioed men straight from the decade and into your home to teach you how to turn your boring old air cooled VW into a dragstrip destroyer. The best part is, though, that once the hilarity of watching a potato-quality video (straight from VHS) of men who are remarkably ill-suited for on-camera work wears off, you’re still left with a thorough lesson in engine building.
